FAQS: CANDLES & DIFFUSERS:
How do I safely prolong the life of my Demilune candle?
As with all candles, the first burn is the most important.... To begin, candles should burn one hour for every 1 inch in diameter of the actual candle size. Therefore, our Classic scented candle should burn a minimum of 3 1/2 hours to liquefy most of the top layer of wax or as close as possible to the edge of the glass (1/8"). If the top layer wax is liquefy up to 1/8" from edge to glass. The remaining wax on the side of the jar will melt after the second and/or third burn. Do not burn longer than 4 hrs at one time.
Trim the wick to 1/4-inch length. By shortening the wick you allow it to burn more slowly and also avoid unsightly black smoke marks around the edge of the glass.
After blowing out your candle, re-center and straighten the wick.
Never leave a lit candle unattended. This could be a fire risk. Always place your candle on a level, heat resistant, non-flammable surface away from fabric or drapes. Choose an area free from drafts to avoid uneven burning. Do not place your candle on a marble or glass surface. If the bottom of the hot candle glass comes in contact with a cold material, the glass may crack.
Discontinue use of candle when 1/2" wax remains at the bottom of the vessel. This will prevent possible damage to the surface or container itself.
